| OUR
HISTORY Waldman Brothers Electric, Inc. was formed on April 29,
1975 when George A. Waldman decided that his sons should have a
family business of their own. At that time, George was a Master
Electrician and a retired partner of Waldman Electric, West Reading.
His Sons, Anthony, Richard, and Carl, all who were electricians
working for other companies, and his Son in Law, John Sausen, an
accountant, were the first 4 stockholders of the new corporation.
The first office was in the garage of Richard's home in the 300
block of Windsor St. A used Dodge van was puchased, and credit accounts
were set up, with George manning the office, and doing the estimating,
all the while never taking a salary, Waldman Brothers Electric,
Inc. was up and running as the newest electrical contractor in Reading.
Times were tough then, trying to line up enough work to allow the
3 Brothers to support their families, but soon our reputation for
performing quality electrical work spread, and the customers started
calling.
On November 1, 1975, we moved to what would be our home for over
25 years, a small office located at 743 North 10th St, Reading.
In February of 1979, Anthony's son Timothy became the first employee.
Since that time many employees have come and gone, but the family
atmosphere of our business lives on.
Things changed drastically in September 1983, when sadly, George
A. Waldman, passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Anthony, who was also a Master Electrician then took over the task
of running the office, with Richard, Carl and Tim working the jobs.
Tim finished his apprenticeship and later earned his Master Electrician
License. Richard, Carl and John retired from the business in the
early 90's, this left Anthony as the last original "brother".
The family tradition continued with Anthony's wife, Patricia, His
children, brothers Tim and Steve and sister Angela, and all of our
loyal employees, all contributing to the success of the family business.
2003 opened a new chapter in the history of Waldman Brothers Electric,
Inc. with Timothy purchacing the business from Anthony, who is looking
forward to enjoying his upcoming retirement years.
As the 3rd generation of the Waldman family to hold the reigns of
the family business, Timothy looks forward to continuing the success
of the past 30 years.
